Q: Is open schooling legal and board-approved?
Yes! We will be following CBSE milestones through the early grades. For Board exams, students are registered as private candidates under NIOS board and can appear for Grade 10 and 12 exams legally via NIOS board. (NIOS is a perfectly valid and accepted board in India just like CBSE, ICSE, SSC or others. Details below)
Q: What really is NIOS?
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is a government-recognized education board in India that offers flexible schooling options for students outside the traditional school system. It allows learners to study at their own pace and appear for board exams for classes 10 and 12, just like CBSE or ICSE students. NIOS is ideal for homeschooling, travel-based families, or children pursuing other passions — and its certificates are valid for competitive examinations, college admissions and jobs across India.
Q: Does this mean my child doesn’t have to go to a regular school?

Q: What would be the mode of learning? How would a day look like at Finkeyz Home School?
Students would be provided daily study time table and directions that they will need to follow. This will be followed by live teacher interactions with teachers. The focus would be self learning & explorations – on an AI platform (via prompts & avatars). There would be daily online class sessions to discuss learnings, socializations and interactions.
Q: Can my child appear for JEE / NEET / Common Entrance Tests later?
Of course. In 10th your child appears as private candidate for NIOS (or any other) board. JEE / NEET and all tests consider the NIOS board.
Q: Is there any dis-advantage of NIOS board later in future?
None at all. NIOS is as good a board as CBSE, ICSE and other boards globally.
Q: Do parents need to teach?
Nope. The platform, AI guide, and mentors do the heavy lifting. But you’re always welcome and encouraged to participate!
Q: Can I switch back to regular school later?
Absolutely. Our program follows CBSE-milestones until grade 9th and ensures your child stays aligned with key milestones.
